Umlamli /Empilisweni Complex Nursing School is a satellite Campus for Lilitha Nursing College. Lilitha Nursing College is One of the best Nursing Colleges in South Africa.
Lilitha College of Nursing was established by the Education and Training of Nurses and Midwives Act 4 of 2003. The intent of the Act was to:
- Repeal the different pieces of apartheid legislation that established the different Nursing Colleges in the Eastern Cape Province;
- Establish one single College with five (5) main campuses and nineteen (19) Sub-campuses distributed throughout the Eastern Cape Province and strategically positioned to meet nurse training demands of the EC health system;

To enrol at the Umlamli /Empilisweni Complex Nursing School, prospective students must have the following requirements:

Applicants currently in Grade 12 are requested to provide school stamped copies of final Grade 11.

Applicants writing the National Senior Certificate (NSC) through IEB or SACAI examining bodies can apply online by selecting “National Senior Certificate” under the Results Detail page of the online application process.
Applicants who completed the GED and would like to study towards an undergraduate curricular qualification are advised to register and complete a grade 12 NSC/IEB/SACAI or international equivalent.
Applicants who did not complete SC/NSC/IEB must have USAF accreditation from the examination board for South African Universities.

Students are given opportunities to explore their hobbies
Typical sports codes that they embark on are as follows:
Soccer, Netball, Volleyball (Every Wednesday after lunch).
Introduction of indigenous games has been done e.g.:
Morabaraba, Chess, Dats & Draft
All these are done to stimulate brain cells so that they will in turn assist the students in critical thinking.

Some students stay in the nurses home and some are staying in a private residence in Sterkspruit village.
Students arrange their own transport for Community Based Education activities

They also attend residential clinics for further exposure

Procedures are demonstrated to all students and then accompanied before they can be ready to feedback on the skill.
Medical Services: Some students utilize their medical aids, other students who don’t have medical aid are treated as per unemployed tariff rates in the institution.
