Settler’s Hospital Nursing School is a satellite Campus for Lilitha Nursing College. Lilitha Nursing College is One of the best Nursing Colleges in South Africa.

Eligibility Requirements

To enrol at the Settler’s Hospital Nursing School, prospective students must have the following requirements:

  • Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate)
  • Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable)
  • An Admission Point (AP) 30
  • Language of instruction 50%
  • 40% in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy 70%
  • 60% in Life Sciences or Physical Sciences 50%

NB. Either Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy is required, as well as either Life Sciences or Physical Sciences.

Note: Please ensure that your application is attached with all the supporting documents including :

  • A medical certificate
  • A South African Identification card
  • Passport number for international students
  • A working cell number
  • A unique email address

How To Apply To The Settler’s Hospital Nursing School

The steps below have been aligned to guide you on how to apply to the All Saints Hospital Nursing School.

Applicants currently in Grade 12 are requested to provide school stamped copies of final Grade 11.
Each prospective student must complete the online application.
Once your online application has been submitted and processed, you will receive a student number (Reference number).
Applicants writing the National Senior Certificate (NSC) through IEB or SACAI examining bodies can apply online by selecting “National Senior Certificate” under the Results Detail page of the online application process.
Applicants who completed the GED and would like to study towards an undergraduate curricular qualification are advised to register and complete a grade 12 NSC/IEB/SACAI or international equivalent.
Applicants who did not complete SC/NSC/IEB must have USAF accreditation from the examination board for South African Universities.

Settler’s Hospital Nursing School Outreach Programmes

This is done through various community projects, such as:

  • TB health awareness campaigns
  • Community-based education (CBE)
  • The Sub-Campus works in collaboration with the clinical services, such as the hospitals and clinics in PHC – outreach programmes

 

Settler’s Hospital Nursing School Local SRC structure

SRC is available but is not fully fledged as it still reports to the bigger SRC body in the Port Elizabeth Main Campus.

The Settler’s Hospital Nursing School Student Activities

Students are involved in extra-mural activities such as music, sport etc.

Settler’s Hospital Nursing School Accommodation and Transport

The nurse’s home is available but rooms are limited. Students are allocated on the basis of first come first serve.
The school does not provide transport services. The Sub-Campus does not provide transport services. Transport is the responsibility of the student to see that she/he reports to both classroom and clinical areas on time.

Jobs and Careers

On completion of the programme, opportunities are created for students to look for employment. There are also career pathing. An access programme is available for students from ENA and EN programmes.
Bridging courses are also available from EN to RN programme.

Student Support and Medical Services

Students are allowed to nominate and elect their own Student Representative Council (SRC). The SRC is a strong link between students and Campus / College Management. Students are permitted to use the health service that is free to all South Africans.
